Welcome

Dear Friend,
As you read my posts here, I would like to remind you of the history of our faith. It is a faith given to us by those who bled and suffered in order for us to be called and named believers of the faith of Christ Jesus.
That said, there seems today, to be a lack of integrity to what we were given so long ago.
Today, so many of our leaders seem self serving. And all the while, the people go wanting.
Today, many leaders seem consumed with building lavish empires. And all the while, those we are called to serve go wanting.

In many churches, we see million-dollar budgets and a more corporate feel and approach to ministry. And yet, there isn’t much change in our neighborhoods. Where is our impact on illiteracy, poverty? On fatherless-ness, hopelessness and many of the other issues that plague our communities?
And what is the call of God in this day to those who are called by His name?
As leaders, especially as leaders, maintaining integrity in our life and leading by precept and example is our challenge and also our calling. The fathers of our faith have laid the foundation of how we should live according to the life and love of Christ. It is a foundation that for all of us is worthy of emulating. Sometimes, however, we need to be reminded of this great call. We need to be stirred, provoked, prodded, pricked.
That is what I hope to do with my writing here—with podcasts and stories and other features to come—as I speak to the heart of what it means to be a follower of Christ in these times, as well as to the ever-powerful, never-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. I invite you to also freely speak, to leave your own comments on all of the issues we explore.
My hope is to challenge, to provoke to love and good works—those who are true believers.

Yours in His Service,
Pastor Allen
